IRC sufferend a lot from it’s reputation, but a lot of things you may not notice are still present in your everyday life

• Discord channel starts with an # just like irc one
• Twitch chat is implemented trough the irc protocol and stream view counts are counted by how many people are present in the chat, sub gift system is working the same way, so yes, you can connect to an infinite amount of stream (just via irc ie: without having to load the web page) and stay afk, gifts will come if you let it run long enough.
• Twitch name system let you change name every ~30 days but you can change the casing whenever you want, in ircit’s kinda the same, the nickname avan-pra = AvAn-PRa when owning a certain nick you also owns all it’s derivative casing be aware of this some client will yell if avan-pra != AvAn-PRa server-side
